Staff News

As you are aware, Mrs Macgougan has put in a request to reduce her teaching commitment to three days a week. Following a successful interview the Governors are pleased to inform you that Mr Collacott will be taking up the permanent position of teacher in that class for the other two days  from September 2008.

We would like to welcome Mr Collacott to the permanent team and wish him every success with us.

Sun Protection
Thank you to everyone who has sent in sun protection and ensured their children bring hats to School. The playground does become extremely hot and bright especially during the lunch hour. On sunny days the children who do not have hats and sun cream will have to stay in the shade. We have just ordered some baseball caps with the School logo which will be on sale for £2.50. Please contact Mrs Bassett for more details. Back to top
Barton Hall

Our residential weekend for Year 6 is only a week away! As we are leaving right after lunch it may be a good idea for all Year 6 children to have a school lunch on that day to avoid having to take a used lunch box away with them.

Internet Safety

Your child will be bringing home a card to encourage the safe use of the Internet. All parents and children sign our Internet Acceptable use Policy and these cards help us all to ensure that our children are safe and use the Internet responsibly. The cards also give links to websites on safe Internet use which you may find helpful.

Operation Sunshine

Do not forget that Operation Sunshine is collecting football boots next week. These will be sent to schools in developing countries to enable children to participate in sport.

Skipping
Your child will also be bringing home a sponsor form and letter about our fundraising effort for the British Heart Foundation and the School. The children are really enjoying trying out a whole range of skipping activities that they have learnt from the DVD. Money raised for the School will go towards some sport or play equipment.  Back to top
